Applications & Recruitment Programme

About the Course

The Applications & Recruitment Programme supports students and young people through the key stages of securing employment, internships, work experience and other professional opportunities. It is designed to give participants a clearer understanding of how recruitment processes work and how to present themselves effectively at each stage.

The programme covers CV development, tailoring applications, identifying relevant skills and experience, writing stronger supporting statements and responding to competency-based questions. Participants also develop practical interview skills, including preparation techniques, structuring answers, communicating experience clearly and responding confidently to different types of interview questions.

Alongside traditional recruitment, the programme can introduce participants to assessment centres, group exercises, virtual interviews and other selection methods commonly used by employers. The focus is not simply on completing applications, but on helping participants understand how to position themselves competitively and communicate the value they can bring.

By the end of the programme, participants should have a stronger understanding of recruitment processes and a practical set of techniques they can apply across future applications and interviews.
