About the Course
The Professional Skills & Workplace Success programme focuses on the skills and behaviours that help students and young people perform effectively once they enter a professional environment. Securing an opportunity is only one part of career development, and this programme helps participants understand how to navigate the workplace confidently and professionally.
Participants explore areas such as professional communication, workplace etiquette, teamwork, time management, accountability and building positive professional relationships. The programme also covers meetings, receiving and responding to feedback, managing expectations, problem-solving and communicating appropriately across different workplace situations.
A key focus is helping participants understand the unwritten expectations that can exist within professional environments. This includes how to conduct themselves, when and how to ask for support, how to contribute effectively within a team and how to adapt their communication to different colleagues and situations.
By the end of the programme, participants should have a clearer understanding of how professional environments operate and feel more confident contributing within them. The aim is to help students and young people move beyond simply being workplace-ready and develop the foundations needed to succeed and progress.
